John Manthos

John Manthos is a New York City native who got his start in the world of print & publishing, working on magazine and newspaper layouts, as well as posters, packaging, brochures, and various other print mechanicals.

After cutting his teeth in print, John took a job at a digital “newspaper” startup called The Daily, launched by the not-so-startup media juggernaut News Corp. This would reshape the path of his career in digital design. In the brief two-year lifespan of The Daily, John climbed from the back of the book to the front page, spending evenings and late nights earning a reputation as a “go-to” in the often frenetic environment of a live newsroom.

After The Daily experiment came to a close, John made another pivot, this time into the TV & entertainment domain. With social media emerging as an eventual cornerstone of digital marketing, John joined the team at Showtime, where he created promotional content for programs like Shameless, Homeland, Dexter, and Ray Donovan.

He would eventually make the jump to HBO, where he spent 8 insanely fast years contributing to several award-winning campaigns. His growth at HBO was invaluable, as he expanded not just upon his design skills, but his leadership skills, organizational skills, and beyond. Highlights include his work on Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, Succession, and The Leftovers.

John is presently a freelance Senior Designer with Warner Bros. Discovery's Concept + Design Studio.
