Curation was the name of the game for HBO's "Create for the Throne" campaign. Leading up to the final season of Game of Thrones, fans and renowned artists alike paid homage to the series with their own unique works of art. Collections included everything from paintings to replicas to ice sculptures. My role was to help curate these collections, provide design input for the photo shoot, and ultimately present them as one unified series of works. Each unique piece would be showcased in all its glory on the MakingGameOfThrones.com blog. We stressed the importance of capturing not only wide shots of each design, but detailed close-ups too, so viewers could appreciate the meticulous nuances of each artist's work. For several of these pieces, we also garnered some process photos to exhibit the different stages of the works as they were coming together. Only a franchise like Game of Thrones could inspire such elaborate creations.
